first day at godiva

yesyes! here to blog about the FIRST ever day at godiva! was quite late when i finally change into my uniform and tie my hair.. expecting a scolding.. but! MR SAM , my 'teacher' for today, seemed rather relaxed and this definitely help me gain some of my confidence back. i was quite worried and tensed up the previous day but MR SAM brightens up my day!

MR SAM is super humourous and nice.. and finally after a few minutes, the teaching session OFFICALLY started. lesson no 1: praline. scrumptious hazelnut and almond pralines in a range of textures from crunchy to satiny smooth (quoted from book.. hahas) i am going to be such a PRO in praline after today! and i get to TASTE the different types of pralines. the chocolates are damn delicious at the start. however, i am super sick of it at the end. hahas. so MR SAM ask me to dump all the half-eaten chocolate into a plastic bag and ask me to bring home. hahas.

after a few minutes, MR SAM decided to give me a test about the pralines. caramels, ganaches, nuts, carres jus make me go crazy. i am given a few minutes of memorising time and finally the test started. to make it more interesting, he decided to make it into a mini game. hahas!

rule for the game: every wrong answer which i produced, i am to eat a small bite of 85% carres. and mind you, 85% dark chocolate is SUPER bitter and it is definitely not for my sweeth tooth. and yes, in total i ate around 5 bites of it. hahas. but overall, learnt alot today and i am happy.

after the pralines, MR SAM taught me about the cashiering stuff, the boxes, pricing and tieing ribbons. i think i am quite a pro in tieing ribbons. am able to tie after a few tries. so happy about my performances. knock off at around 9 plus. relaxed and non tiring day. with my colleagues around, it definitely makes the work more fun!

alright! that marks the first day at godiva. definitely looking forward to tmr! will be learning truffles! and hopefully i can 'master' all the items by the third day. wish me good luck! lastly, i really like MR SAM!=)
